Housing and Essential Needs Support Services offered by Catholic Community Services at The Phoenix Center
Provides wraparound financial support to adults without minor children who are deemed incapacitated by DSHS and have no income or are enrolled in ABD. May assist with hygiene supplies, light case management, referrals and transportation costs. Apply through DSHS.
Provides the following services for individuals approved by DSHS:
- Transportation Assistance (Orca LIFT annual free bus pass)
- Essential Needs (hygienic and cleaning supplies once per month, valued at $65-$75)
- Housing Search Assistance for those experiencing homelessness
- Light case management and referrals to other services, primarily at intake
- Employment Counseling
Ongoing Rent/Utility Assistance or back pay assistance may be available to renters who are already enrolled in HEN, as funds become available. Cannot provide ongoing rent/utility payments for those households living in subsidized housing as defined as public housing (SHA, KCHA or RHA buildings) or those receiving a section 8 Housing Choice Voucher. Can only guarantee monthly payments 90 days at a time. At some point, it is expected that HEN recipients will need to begin covering rent with their own resources.
