Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program offered at Pierce County Human Services Aging & Disability Services

Eligibility

- Resident of Pierce County - 60 years old or older (55 and older if Native American / Alaska Native) - income must be below 185% of Federal Poverty Level. That means: -- $2,413 Monthly Income for 1 person -- $3,261 Monthly Income for 2 people -- For larger households, add $848/month for each additional person.

Application process

Call the ADRC, provide Name, Birthdate, Household Size, Income, Phone Number and Mailing Address or start the process online at PierceCountyWA.gov/farmersmarket. Those who are eligible will receive an application/affidavit in the mail. Complete the forms, sign, and mail it back.

Description

Provides fresh fruit and vegetables to lower-income seniors with the goal of improving their health and nutritional status. It also supports local farming by increasing the use of farmers markets and roadside stands. There is a strict limit of up to $80 in funds per household. A limited number of funds are available each season, and completed applications will be processed in the order received.
