County Pet Licenses/Senior Discount offered at City of Kenmore

Eligibility
No restrictions for pet licenses. However, some cities, like Kirkland, have their own pet licensing program and residents are not eligible for a King County license. King County pet licenses are required for all dogs and cats 8 weeks of age or older in most areas of the county. For senior/disabled discount:  
  • Pet owner must be age 65 or older or have a documented disability.
  • Pet must be altered.
 For service animals:
  • Owner must have a documented disability and statement that animal is a service animal.
  • Pet must be altered.
  • A service animal is any animal that is trained or being trained to aid a person who is blind, hearing impaired, or otherwise disabled and is used for that purpose and is registered with a recognized service animal organization.

Fill out application online or visit a licensing location, including city offices. Call for more information. Visit website for all licensing locations. In summer and fall, King County canvassers also sell pet licenses door to door.
