Kinship Caregiver Support Program offered at Family Education and Support Services

Main office is located off Capital Boulevard amongst the state offices.

Eligibility

Low income family members raising a relative child(ren) under the age of 18 and are residents of Thurston, Mason or Lewis County.

For family members raising children that are not their own, such as grandchild, niece, nephew, siblings, or a friend's child. Offers advocacy, information and referral services to kin caregivers. Provides information about how to access and apply for serves as well as problem solve and advocate for kinship families when issues arrive. Assists lower income kinship caregivers with some basic needs. Eligible families may qualify for a one time Financial Grant to help with:
  • Food, Clothing and Basic Needs
  • School and Youth Activities
  • Emergency Utility Assistance
  • Emergency Rental Assistance
  • Transition Counseling
  • Transportation Assistance
