Division of Basic & Transitional Studies at Seattle Central College
Offers a variety of programs to help learners of all levels, providing the education needed to prepare for college and career readiness. Skills emphasized will help students prepare for any placement test. Also offers the following programs and classes: - Adult Basic Education classes (ABE) for adults lacking skills in reading, math and writing. - English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for non-English speaking immigrants and refugees. - Tutoring for individuals and small groups enrolled in the classes listed above. - GED Preparation Classes for students working toward a General Education Development Certificate. - High School Completion Program for students who have not completed work for a high school diploma. - Refugee Program, which is a supplement to the ESL and ABE programs. Trainers and bilingual aides also work with pre-literate refugees.
