Food Worker Cards offered at Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department
Classes are available online at www.foodworkercard.wa.gov. For those that don't have internet access, the Health Department has kiosks available. In person classes are also available the first Thursday of each month. In person classes consist of reading a booklet, watching a video, a short lecture with question/answer period and a multiple choice written exam.

Open to anyone.
Fee
Class/Card is $10. Those taking the class online can pay with a Visa, Discover, or MasterCard. Those taking the in-person class need to pay with cash. Personal checks are not accepted.

Chief Health Strategist provides leadership for prevention regarding public health issues and Health Equity in Pierce County. Offers public health services for individuals, communities, and businesses, including: - water, restaurant, waste disposal, and septic system inspection; - monitoring and responding to outbreaks of communicable diseases, including TB, Hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, and others; - substance abuse counseling, - health counseling for prenatal clients and parents of children in the home; - health education and general health information and referral.
