Eligibility
To be eligible for the program a household must:
  • Own the home they live in,
  • Be within the service area in Pierce County,
  • Be up to date on property taxes and any mortgage payments,
  • Be low income (50% gross AMI based on household size),
  • Have someone in the home who is a senior, living with a disability, or a child under the age of 18.
Application process
Call the office to go through eligibility screening and have an application mailed. See the application for required documentation. All application and income information must be submitted before an application can be considered for assistance. Applicants will be called for a house visit before applicant is accepted or denied. An application is NOT a guarantee of services. Programs are limited in budget and scope of work per home based on organization capacity and funding availability.

Focuses on two types of repair work, Home Modifications and Critical Repairs. Applications are accepted year round and repairs are offered on a first come, first served basis. Repairs fall into two typical categories: Home Modifications:
  • improve the safety and accessibility in the home and can include repairs like deck or stair replacements, ramp installations, grab bar installations, or comfort height toilet installations.
Critical Repairs:
  • addresses minor to moderate repairs for major systems of the home like electrical, plumbing, heating, and security.
Cannot work on travel trailers or with renters. This is not a crisis repair or weatherization program. Does not provide yard work on an ongoing basis; it can be a component of a larger repair project, but not the only service provided at the home.
