Eligibility
Families or individuals referred from the sources identified under “Referral/Screening Process” must be literally homeless or actively fleeing domestic violence.
Referred participants must be from the City of Tacoma, meaning that they are currently parking within the City limits.
Prospective participants must comply with a criminal background check prior to entry. Sex offenses and violent offenses against persons are disqualifying factors.
Vehicle must be operational and licensed with current registration.

Provides a place where people who have no other option, or prefer staying in their vehicle, to locate and be reasonably secure from outside danger or from being asked to move by property owners or law enforcement.
Offers a safe parking area that is fenced and spacious, allowing for distance between vehicles as well as the ability to separate families and childless households.
Security is on site at all times to reinforce safety at the site.
Allows access to the Rectory building on the campus, which provides bathrooms, laundry, a kitchen, as well as private meeting space and office space.
Collaborates with other programs of CCS. Families using the safe parking site would have use of the Family Housing Network Day Center for use of the facility and Coordinated Entry and case management services. Veterans using safe parking would be assigned an SSVF case manager that could work with them on site and enroll them in rapid rehousing services. They would have access to a benefits specialist and connected to a HUD-VASH case manager at the VA as needed.
