Bill Credit Assistance Plan offered by Tacoma Public Utilities

Eligibility

Households must meet the following criteria: - Utilities are billed directly by Tacoma Public Utilities, and - The account is in the customer's name, and - Have a single-metered residential account (meter cannot serve more than one dwelling), and - Reside in the dwelling unit full-time, and - Household income does not exceed 60% of the area median income. Income Guidelines: - Household of 1, gross monthly household income up to $4,229 - household of 2, gross monthly household income up to $4,833 - household of 3, gross monthly household income up to $5,438 - household of 4, gross monthly household income up to $6,042 - household of 5, gross monthly household income up to $6,525 - household of 6, gross monthly household income up to $7,008

Description

Provides monthly or bi-monthly credits to TPU customers whose incomes are at or below 60% of the area median income. Bill Credit Assistance Plan customers will receive an Automatic Credit regardless of on-time payment AND will have the opportunity to receive an additional Achievable Credit when their balance is paid on-time. Installment plans are allowed if made within the specific guidelines. Credits may be achieved even with installment plans if the bill is paid within specific guidelines. Credits can be achieved for all services billed directly to the customer by TPU.

Tacoma Public Utilities and City of Tacoma Environmental Services provides Utility Bill Payment Assistance Programs for customers billed directly through Tacoma Public Utilities for power, water, wastewater, surface water, and solid waste.
