Project Access - Donated Care Program offered at Pierce County Project Access
Has a network of healthcare professionals providing donated care to low-income individuals without insurance. Eligibility requires residency in the county for a minimum of three months, annual tax filing, and a household income not exceeding 400% of the Federal Poverty Level, which is approximately $5,020 monthly for a single-person household. The availability of services is contingent upon the availability of doctors, covering various specialties including: - Behavioral health (currently unavailable) - General and Breast Surgery - Cardiology - Dermatology - Endocrinology (currently unavailable) - Otolaryngology (ENT) - Gastroenterology (GI) - Gynecology - Diagnostic Imaging - Laboratory Services - Naturopathy - Neurology (including Multiple Sclerosis and sleep disorders) - Oncology - Optometry - Ophthalmology (limited to cataract surgery) - Orthopedics (excluding spinal issues; no referrals for back pain) - Pathology - Perinatology - Physical Medicine - Physical Therapy - Podiatry - Primary Care - Pulmonology - Radiation Oncology - Urology - Urogynecology (currently unavailable) Limitations apply. Does not offer urgent care or immediate referrals and does not assist with fractures, birth control, chronic pain management, or disability assessments.

Application process
Call to talk with one of the patient care coordinators. After a patient is approved for the program, coordinators will assist in managing their care alongside providers across Pierce County. Patients are enrolled for 12 months at a time. Patients must show up to all appointments, follow provider's treatment plan, and be in good communication with Project Access.

Participants can enroll with PCPA to have their monthly premiums covered for a silver-level qualified health plan through the Washington Healthplan Finder. Enrollees are responsible for their out-of-pocket costs. Eligibility: - Tailored for those ineligibles for free healthcare and unable to afford insurance. - Eligibility requires residency in Pierce County for a minimum of three months, annual tax filing, and a household income not exceeding 400% of the Federal Poverty Level, which is approximately $5,020 monthly for a single-person household. - Applicants must lack alternative health insurance options, such as VA coverage, Medicaid, Medicare, disability, or employer-provided insurance to qualify. - Project Access evaluates eligibility on an individual basis if the applicant has access to insurance through a spouse's employer and may request further details. - Designed to assist both individuals and families.
