Dial-A-Ride offered by Ben Franklin Transit
Provides curb -to-curb transportation service for people with qualifying disabilities. Vehicles are lift equipped to accommodate individuals using wheelchairs or other mobility devices. Certain weight and size limitations exist and an individual applying for service should call the Ben Franklin Transit office (509-735-0160, then press 3) to discuss the specific type of mobility devices they would like to use while traveling. Drivers may provide door-to-door service for those individuals who require assistance to/from the vehicle. An individual designated as a Personal Care Attendant may accompany the customer at no cost.

Applications are available from the transit office or download the PDF form below. To request a mailed copy of the application, call 509.735.5100. A determination of eligibility will be made within 21 calendar days of receiving a completed application. Scheduling: If eligible, reservations can be scheduled at least one day in advance or up to seven days in advance. Reservations can be made by phone 7 days a week, from 8am-5pm or on-line; reviewed M-F between 8am – 4:45pm.
Fee
If the individual lives within three quarters of a mile from bus route, the fees are the following: - $1.50 per trip - $3.00 round trip - $25 for a monthly pass - $12 for a 10-ride ticket Call 509-735-0160 for further information.
Eligibility
Eligibility is determined with a completed Dial-A-Ride Eligibility Application; including the Licensed Provider Verification Form and may require an in-person Functional Assessment.
