Description

Our Emergency Department providers are dedicated to caring for our community 24/7. Summit Pacific offers an array of emergency services for our community, including Level II Cardiac, Level III Stroke and Level IV Trauma services. Our hospital is unique due to its size and accessibility. At Summit Pacific, we have the ability to stabilize and provide advanced trauma life support to critically injured patients. If a higher-level trauma center is needed to provide the patient with the best care, we are equipped to transfer by ambulance or helicopter. Though we do not have cardiac catheterization services, should the patient need catheterization, we are equipped to quickly assess, stabilize and transfer to a medical facility that does. Stopping at Summit Pacific for stabilization has been instrumental in saving the lives of heart attack and stroke victims as well as those with traumatic injuries. Summit Pacific Medical Center is a member of Southwest Washington’s Telestroke Network. This network provides stroke patients the opportunity to come to Summit Pacific at the first signs of stroke and still be seen immediately by a neurologist from Providence St. Peter Hospital’s certified stroke center through advanced video technology. Emergency Department Check-In Location & After Hours Visitors Please use the driveway and parking lot located off of Young Street when visiting the Emergency Department. The Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you are visiting and find that the main patient entrance is locked, please check in at the Emergency Department. Sexual Assault Exams Summit Pacific offers sexual assault exams through the Emergency Department for individuals 14 years of age and older that have been victims of sexual assault. SANE exams are intended for victims who have suffered an assault within the past 120 hours (5 days). Specially trained nurses and providers will offer an exam that documents the history of the assault, examines for acute injuries, documents findings to include photography and forensic evidence collection when appropriate, and provides treatment to reduce the chances of sexually transmitted disease and pregnancy. SANE exams are available without a referral and forensic exam fees are covered by Crime Victims Compensation. SANE examiners can assist victims in filing a police report and connecting with advocacy and counseling services. Children and younger teens will be referred to the Sexual Assault Clinic in Lacey for treatment and services. To learn more about SANE services, call 360-346-2274.
