Eligibility
Entering kindergartners must be age 5 on or before August 31.   Students must be properly immunized.   District serves students who are residents of Mercer Island. Testing for special programs is performed by the district.
Hours
7:30am to 4:30pm from Monday through Friday
Application process
Call school office during the school year and the district office during the summer. Students registering should bring vaccination records, birth certificate and any transfer records from previous school.
Fees
Exceptions include an optional Kindergarten activity program, and fees for certain high school classes and project materials.

Instruction provided at four elementary schools, one middle school, one high school and one alternative high school.   The district is noted for its heavy academic emphasis and its high number of National Merit scholars.   Computer skills are practiced at all levels, starting with elementary grades.   Academic offerings at the middle school include an English-social studies block program.   Special offerings at the high school include courses in advanced biology, bio-medical problems, advanced math and physics, and two-hour blocks in humanities, American history and literature.
