Mission Outreach offered at Saint Vincent de Paul - Pierce County

Provides case work support to those facing a crisis or in need of resources. Also assists with coordinated entry. Partners with 11 local Catholic churches that provide assistance to those residing in their zip code. Assistance is limited but can include funding for emergency basic needs such as rental deposits, utilities, gas vouchers, food vouchers, and more. Those in need contact their closest SVdP Catholic Parish, email the SVdP Help Line, or visit the Community Resource Center Mon, located at 4009 South 56th, next to the Thrift Store. Can provide assistance up to every three months for gas vouchers and food vouchers unless other extreme circumstances arise. St. Vincent de Paul's Mission Outreach Program includes the Homeless Prevention & Basic Needs Program and Centro Rendu - assists Latinos and immigrants. All programs operate out of the Community Resource Center located next to the Thrift Store. The Community Resource Center does not provide direct rental assistance.

Visit the local parish for assistance first. Visit the website for a listing of all active SVdP parishes, hours and services provided. If no zip code is serviced by a local parish, call, email or visit the Community Resource Center. Centro Rendu provides Spanish speaking staff at the Community Resource Center, and will be easier to access than the parish churches for Spanish speakers. All St. Vincent de Paul churches and the community Resource Center work together to assist families and individuals in need to provide basic needs, which vary depending on the request of the person/family in need. Most requests are utility assistance, food, gas vouchers, clothing, referrals to behavioral health services and assistance with applications for other services. SVdP Churches are listed below. Operates a Thrift Store that provides affordable clothing and household goods. St. Vincent de Paul also operates a program called Mission Outreach to provide financial and material assistance to those facing an immediate crisis. Assistance from Mission Outreach is provided by contacting an affiliated Catholic Church in the zip code where the person in need resides. Additional assistance from Mission Outreach can also be provided by calling the SVdP Tacoma Help Line but may take 48-72 hours to return a call due to the high volume of incoming calls. Those needing assistance from the Help Line are encouraged to email [email protected]. Or, they can visit the newly opened Community Resource Center located next to the Thrift Store to accommodate walk-ins Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10am - 3pm.
