Glass Arts Programs for Youth offered at Hilltop Artists

602 North Sprague Avenue, Hilltop Heritage Middle School, Tacoma, WA 98403

From I-5:
  • Take So. 38th St. Exit 132 toward WA-16/ Gig Harbor;
  • Take the Sprague Ave Exit; go straight until reaching 6th Ave;
  • Hilltop Heritage Middle School is at the corner of 6th Ave and Sprague.
If school is open, please go to the Main Office and they will direct you to the hot shop.
Eligibility
Students, 12-26 years of age, enrolled in or seeking enrollment in a certified school.

Age Group

  • Adolescents (13-17)
Uses glass arts to connect young people from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds to better futures. 6 programs serve 650+ students annually with glass art-related programming. Programs are as follows:
  • Daytime Electives, After-School, and Summer Glass Art, at Hilltop Heritage Middle School and Silas High School
  • Arts Connect programming for females 12-18 involved with Pierce County Juvenile Court
  • Outreach Services for any participating youth
  • Team Production and Alumni Team for advanced students ages 14-26 who build skills and complete commissions. They participate in retreats at Pilchuck Glass School, lead demonstrations at the Museum of Glass during Third Thursdays and at a week-long residency, and may apply for international travel and learning opportunities
