High school graduates and others, ages 18 and older.

Offers Adult Basic Education (ABE) and General Education Development (GED) courses.   Volunteers are recruited and placed with students enrolled in ABE. Volunteers receive sensitivity training and tutoring skills training.   Some child care is available on a fee basis.   The Adult Basic Education classes are designed to help adults:  
  • Improve basic skills in reading, writing and math
  • Develop life-long learning skills
  • Obtain personal satisfaction through self-development
  • Meet basic skills requirements for workplace job opportunities
  • Prepare for GED classes or other college classes
GED® Test Preparation classes at Bellevue College are designed for students with well-developed reading skills to:
  • Review and prepare for the four GED® tests
  • Identify readiness to take the GED® tests based on in-class practice tests
  • Develop test taking strategies and study skills
