Bills should never be ignored in hardship situations and clients who cannot pay in full should call to discuss their accounts.
Payment arrangements can be made; partial payments may prevent disconnection.
Disconnect notices are sent after the due date (varies according to monthly or bi-monthly account).
If customer has not made prior arrangements, service can be immediately disconnected.
Service will not be disconnected before 8am or after 5pm M-F, on weekends or holidays.
Service will not be reconnected after 6pm, M-F.
Unless other arrangements are agreed upon by City Light, collection charges, reconnect fee and the original bill must be paid in full before service will be restored.
Late payments may be paid (not in cash) in City Light night depositories.
The envelope should be clearly marked with "Attention: Credit Dept. " Be sure to include account name, address and account number. In case of emergency, call Customer Service.
Appeal procedures for disputed claims may be made informally through the Customer Service office.
If client is not satisfied, appeal may be made to supervisory staff who will explain formal appeal process if an agreement is not reached.
If final appeal decision is refused by customer, service may be discontinued without further notice.
Budget billing plan permits customers to pay annual energy bills in equal monthly installments.
