Application process
Call or check website for updated application information. Applicants must attend a homeowner orientation, complete an application, and participate in an interview. Once a family has applied and been accepted by Habitat for Humanity, it takes 3-6 months for rehabilitation homes and 12-18 months to build new homes.
Fees
Participants must meet monthly mortgage payments. Mortgage payment is set at 30% of gross income.

Description
Helps low-income individuals and families attain home ownership. New houses are built through contributions and volunteer labor and are then sold to carefully screened families. May be able to subsidize the thirty-party mortgage. Recipients are required to contribute 250 hours of "sweat equity" labor. On average builds 10-20 homes per year. Some homes are set aside for veteran applicants.
