Hygiene Center offered by Compass Housing Alliance at Compass Center

Offers homeless individuals a place to use the restroom, take a hot shower, and do a load of laundry. Additionally provides the following services: -  Nurse care to those living on the streets or in shelters -  Toiletries and supplies for use on site -  Hygiene packets for clients to take with them Clients may drop off up to 15 pounds of laundry once per week. Laundry may include any kinds of clothing, including jackets. Each load must have more than two items, and must NOT include the following items: -  Blankets -  Backpacks -  Sleeping bags -  Tennis shoes -  Linens -  Towels Healthcare for the Homeless nurse is on site for two hours, four days per week, to see clients on a drop-in basis. Clients do not need to be using other hygiene services in order to see nurse. Provides printed hygiene materials in Spanish.

Hours

M-F, 7am-4pm Sa, 8am-noon. Last shower available half hour before close. Last laundry load must start three hours before close.

Application process

Visit in person. Services are first-come, first-served; does not set appointments. Expect a wait, especially during the morning.

Eligibility

Homeless adults, ages 18 and older only, who are living on the streets or in shelters.

Compass Housing Alliance

Operates one drop-in center for homeless adults with showers, nurse care, hygiene supplies and limited laundry facilities as well as free local phone usage. Also assists clients in obtaining resources such as referrals for shelter, housing, health services and public benefits. Offers mail services, and assists with obtaining referrals for housing for veterans, as well as men and women in addiction recovery and others with low income. Provides shelter for adult men and women on a referral basis.
