Receives 911 calls and dispatches the appropriate law, fire and medical services.
Also handles non-emergency public safety requests for service.
Also accepts texts from those who are unable to call for disability or safety reasons.
Call 911 during a medical, fire or police emergency. Examples include:
- crime in progress or if the suspect is still in area or close by,
- any type of fire,
- any medical emergency including non-injury falls or patient assists,
- power lines down in roadways or areas that people could come into contact with the lines,
- any other life threatening situations (traffic accidents with injuries, etc.).
- the caller is hearing/voice impaired,
- a medical emergency that prevents the caller from talking
- when speaking out loud would put the caller in danger (home invasion, domestic violence, kidnapping, or active shooter),
- any other emergency that makes it impossible to speak out loud.
