Volunteer Services offered by Crisis Connections

24-Hour Crisis Line and WA Warm Line phone worker positions: Individuals ages 21 and older who can commit to -  12 months of service on a regular, once weekly 4 hour shift -  One holiday shift per year -  One on-call shift per month -  Completion of four in-service/continuing education credits per year   WA Teen Link: -  Individuals ages 13-20 for outreach and phone worker positions; must commit to 5-10 hours per month for six months -  Individuals ages 21 and older for Teen Link Supervisor position; must commit to 3-4 four-hour supervision shifts per month for 12 months

Description

Recruits, screens, trains and manages the nearly 400 volunteers that serve in volunteer roles on the 24-Hour Crisis Line, WA Warm Line, and WA Teen Link. Volunteers for all services receive extensive, specialized training in various mental health, crisis, and suicide intervention topics. Volunteers also learn to convey empathy and non-judgment through communication and active listening skills. Volunteer training programs are available in various formats, including online and hybrid online/onsite opportunities.
