Subsidized Housing at Orchard Apartments

Provides income based housing to families, seniors and those with disabilities. There are 31 rentable 2 or 3 bedroom units. Households must be at least two people for a two bedroom unit, and at least three people for a three bedroom unit. Does not accept the Section 8 vouchers because it is subsidized housing. Wait list can be up 2 years long. Allows service animals. One service animal per household. Must have form filled out by Dr. Does not accept applicants with evictions. Felonies must be over 10 years old. No sexual offenders.

Application process

Pick-up a pre-application or call for one to be mailed/emailed if you can't get to the office. Filling out a pre-application only puts the household on the waiting list. Once the family comes up, they will have to fill out a full application for final approval. Both the pre-application and the full application will require the Social Security Numbers of all household members, even children. Completed pre-applications and full applications can be mailed, emailed, faxed or dropped off in the rent drop box.

Fee

Rent will vary by income and household size. No application or screening fees.

Must be a household of at least 2 people (pregnancy counts as a person) and meet the income guidelines. Call for more information.

HUD - Government Subsidized Housing Rent is completely based on household size and income. HUD will supply energy credits and credits for dependents to lower the cost of rent. Those with zero income will have rent and utilities covered.
