Solid waste rates: Garbage (Total fee includes basic fee plus surcharge and tax) - Minimum fee $33.00 per entry. Covers the first 320 pounds. - Visit website for additional solid waste disposal fees. Recyclables: For information about fees for recyclable materials such as appliances, yard waste and wood, call or visit the website. Unsecured Loads: All vehicles arriving at transfer stations that do not have secured loads will be charged a $25 fee, strictly enforced. Loads must be secured so as to prevent the covering or any part of the load from becoming loose, detached or leaving the vehicle while the vehicle is moving. Payment Methods: Cash, checks (payable to "KCSWD"), Visa® and MasterCard® (debit/credit) are accepted.

Provides locations for King County residents to dispose of solid waste and recyclable materials. Items which may be recycled vary by location. The following items are NOT accepted in the garbage: - Commercial loads of construction and demolition debris - Construction and demolition debris transported in dump bed vehicles or trailers - Cardboard* - Scrap metal* - Yard waste (grass, leaves, branches, etc. ) - Clean wood (unpainted, untreated) - Asbestos-containing waste - Computers and computer monitors - Fluorescent bulbs and tubes; other items with mercury - Hazardous/dangerous waste; ignitable, corrosive, reactive or toxic - Items longer than eight feet - Oil-based paint - Pressurized tanks; propane, helium, etc. - Rechargeable batteries - Televisions - Vehicle and marine batteries Accepted in garbage with restrictions: - Batteries: Alkaline only (AA, AAA, etc. ; all others must be recycled at retail stores or a hazardous waste facility) - Latex paint; must be dry or solidified, with lid off - Mattresses or box springs; limit of six per customer per day - Tires; limit four car tires per load; no truck tires For hazardous waste disposal, contact Seattle King County Public Health Department's Hazardous Waste Program.
