Food Pantry offered at Byrd Barr Place

Provides perishable and non-perishable food items, as well as commodities of government surplus food such as cheese and peanut butter. Sometimes offers a limited supply of pet food. The market resembles a grocery store where shoppers may choose from displays stocked with healthy foods and non-grocery essentials. Many items are provided by local growers and grocers. Regularly stocked items include: - Fresh produce - Cultural staples - Meat - Dairy products - Bread - Canned and other nonperishable goods - Household and personal care items such as shampoo, toothpaste and paper towels - Formula and baby supplies may also be available. Provides home delivery to area residents who are homebound due to disabilities.

Application process

Visit in person. First come, first served. It is recommended to arrive 30 minutes before market hours. Please bring your own bags if you can. For home delivery, call to inquire about being placed on the list. Food Pantry phone number sounds like a personal phone number but is answered by the Food Pantry Director.

Eligibility

Residents of the city of Seattle as well as people who are experiencing homelessness. Refers clients from out of the area to their local food pantry if possible, but will not turn anyone away. Clients may visit once per week. Commodities and home delivery only available to residents of ZIP codes 98102, 98112 and 98122.
