Shelter Housing offered at Vine Maple Place
Provides supportive shelter including 7 shared duplexes comprising of 14 units for single-parent families with children. Length of stay varies, determined on a case-by-case basis. Families live independently or in shared two-bedroom duplexes. Housing is alcohol- and drug-free with a zero tolerance policy. Focuses on moving families into stable housing. Provides services not limited to: - Housing case management - Employment services - Financial budgeting - Life skills classes - Parenting classes - Child and youth case management - Optional on-site counseling Provides following services to children while parents are in class: - Tutoring - Mentoring - Art - Music

Application process
Apply on website or call for more information on how to submit an application. Does not offer drop-in services. When space becomes available, only applications from the past 60 days are considered. Families who have applied and who haven't been contacted by Vine Maple Place within 60 days are encouraged to re-apply in order to keep their application current. Does not maintain a waiting list. Agency triages applicants based on emergent need.
Fee
$50 security deposit; monthly $50 program fee. Can offer a waiver for deposit if unable to pay.
Eligibility
Homeless single-parent families with children, with a focus on single mothers; also serves pregnant women. Program serves single-parent families in Maple Valley and cities within a nine mile radius; includes Black Diamond, Ravensdale, Covington, Lea Hill, parts of East Hill Kent and Fairwood or families that have a connection to the area (work, school, etc. ). May house victims of domestic violence who are NOT being actively pursued. Service animals accepted with documentation and diagnosis from doctor; no pets allowed in shelter units. Applicants undergo a background check and drug test. Applicants with a criminal record will be screened on a case-by-case basis. No income required to apply, but must be willing to work.
