Community-Based Mentoring Program offered at Friends of Children of Walla Walla

Any child that is at least 6 years old in the Walla Walla Valley with parental permission.Adult volunteers need to be at least 18 years old and complete "Friends" screening process that includes the following: written application, criminal screen, reference checks, 2½ hours of training, interview, show proof of insurance, and volunteer match preference forms.
M-F, 8:30am-5pm.

Description

Matches adult volunteers with a young persons ages 6-17 based on mutual interests to spend at least one hour together each week. Safety is of the highest concern of this program, therefore volunteers are carefully screened. Even though "Friends" is not a government agency, it complies with adult-child mentoring program guidelines established by the federal Department of Justice's Office of Juvenile Justice. Children participating in the "Friends" program is completely voluntary.
