Communications and Community Engagement at the Renton Police Department

Conducts residential or commercial security surveys of city residents' property. Police will check for proper locks and window latches and other safety considerations. Coordinates neighborhood block watches. Registers residents who may have difficulty communicating or may need special assistance during an emergency situation. This kind of assistance may be needed if the person is unable to speak or properly identify themselves, or if they become disoriented or act in a manner that could be misinterpreted by first responders.
