Description

Provides a nutrition program and food assistance for pregnant and post-partum women, infants, and children up to 5 years of age. The goal of The Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is to improve the life long health and nutrition of pregnant women, new mothers, infants, and young children. Offers: -  Debit card to purchase nutritious foods, such as fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, cow’s milk, goat milk, soy milk, tofu, cheese, eggs, whole wheat bread and hot dog and hamburger buns, brown rice, tortillas, hot and cold breakfast cereals, juice, peanut butter and beans. For babies over 6 months of age WIC participants can purchase baby cereals and baby fruits and vegetables. Infant formula is available if needed. -  Nutrition and health assessments, education, and counseling. -  Breastfeeding support -  Referrals to other health and social programs.
