City Pet Licenses/Senior Discount offered at City of Des Moines

Eligibility

City pet licenses are required for all dogs and cats over six months old. Pets must be vaccinated for rabies. For senior discount, resident must be age 65 or older.

Hours

6am to 8pm from Monday through Friday and 8am to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays

Application process

Call for more information. Apply in person at the police department or fill out application online and mail in.

Unaltered dog/cat: $60.   Altered dog/cat: $20.   Seniors: Free.   Service Animal: Free
