Inspects retail and wholesale scales, gasoline pumps and other commercial weighing and measuring devices for accuracy. Investigates complaints involving short weight and measure (e. g., home wood sales, retail grocery and meat sales and gasoline pump sales). Inspects retail commodities offered for sale to determine accurate unit pricing and to provide the consumer with accurate unit pricing information. Also scans prices and produce coding prices to ensure accurate charges to the consumer.
