Eligibility
To register as domestic partners at least one partner must be older than 62 years and both must be at least 18 years old. Both partners must:
- Share a common residence
- Not be married to, or in a registered domestic partnership with someone else
- Be capable of consenting to the domestic partnership
- Not be nearer kin than second cousin
- Not be a sibling, grandchild, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew to the other partner

Application process
Download the Declaration of Domestic Partnership form from the website or request a form by mail. Couples will need to sign the declaration form in the presence of a notary public and submit the form and the filing fee to the Corporations Division for filing.

Fees
The fee for registering a domestic partnership is $50. The fee for each extra or replacement certificate is $5.

Provides Domestic Partnership Registration to eligible couples.
Provides that for all purposes under state law, state registered domestic partners shall be treated the same as married spouses and that provisions of the act shall be liberally construed to achieve equal treatment, to the extent not in conflict with federal law.
Out-of-state registered Domestic Partnerships will receive all the benefits allowed in Washington. However, if different benefits are allowed in the home state of registration that are not allowed in Washington, those benefits will not be recognized in Washington.
