Road to Independence Van Program - Pierce offered at Puget Sound Educational Service District - Pacific Office
Provides transportation services to low income individuals seeking transportation in North and East Pierce County to employment related destinations such as: - work, - a new job, - an already scheduled job interview, - an employment related training, - or any other appointments necessary to obtaining or retaining employment, and have no other transportation available. Rides must originate in Spanaway, Puyallup, Sumner, or Bonney Lake and services are able to go as far North as Renton and as far South as Tacoma. Transportation is only offered Monday through Friday 6am-6pm and is based on volunteer availability.

Application process
Call 211 to be screened. RTI will follow up within 1 business day. Samantha from Road to Independence will contact you to let you know if you were approved or denied. If you are approved you may then call the number for scheduling directly and they will already have all your information on file. Ride reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance.
Eligibility
To qualify for transportation services, riders must: Those with special needs, veterans, seniors, youth, and other transportation disadvantaged Reside in a location in which there is limited and/or no public transit available or would be unable to self-transport Be able to board/disembark a large passenger van unassisted Adults 18 or older. Income guidelines: Monthly income must fall within the ranges for household size - 1 person household: $1,138.50 or less - 2 person household: $1,535.50 or less - 3 person household: $1,932.00 or less - 4 person household: $2,328.75 or less - 5 person household: $2,725.50 or less - 6 person household: $3,122.25 or less Must live in: 98352, 98371, 98372, 98373, 98374, 98375, 98387, 98390, 98391
