Vehicle Registration
  • New Washington state residents have 30 days to register their vehicle after they move to the state.
  • Residents who buy or get a vehicle as a gift have 15 days to transfer the ownership.
 Disabled Parking Permits
  • Permanent placards are renewed every five years.
Renewal reminders are mailed prior to the expiration of the placard.  
  • A temporary parking placard will be issued for the time period indicated by the physician (for up to 12 months) and is not renewable.
If the disability persists, a new application is required.   
  • Disabled American Veterans are eligible for free vehicle licensing for one vehicle per year.
The veteran must have an honorable discharge or a medical discharge w/ an honorable record and their disability must be 100% service-related.
