Assists low-income and underserved students in developing strategies to ensure they are prepared academically, socially, and emotionally for higher education. Services are provided for students, parents, and educators. Student services may begin with early interventions in middle school and continue providing support through high school, before and after school tutoring, technology-based curriculum, campus visits for career, college, trade, and technical schools, financial literacy education, and summer enrichment. Parents have access to leadership training, grass-roots community development, parent involvement programs, workshops (including topics such as paying for college, applying for financial aid, college application essay writing, and college selection), as well as education classes focused on preparing students for college. Educators are provided classroom technology and curriculum and staff development in ESL and reading endorsement.
