Library Services offered at Bellingham Public Library's Central Branch

Bellingham Public Library is located in the Bellingham Civic Center across from City Hall and the Whatcom County Courthouse.   From I-5, take the Lakeway Exit. Turn right (west) on Lakeway and follow towards downtown. Lakeway turns into Holly just past Ellis Street.   Stay on Holly and turn right on Commercial St. just past Cornwall Ave. Follow Commercial St. as it bends and go past the Mount Baker Theater. The Library is located on the corner of Central Ave and Commercial Street.

Library cards are free of charge if you live, work, or attend school in Whatcom County.

Description

Provides library services throughout the community at four branches. Additional locations include holds pick-up and materials drop-off on three college campuses, and community drop boxes. Digital library services offer opportunities to download eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines, conduct research and use the library catalog. There are free programs, classes and special events including storytimes each week and early literacy classes taught by childhood education experts. Shares a library catalog and electronic management system with Whatcom County Library System, allowing patron access to the collections of both libraries which provides convenient, consistent services to all Whatcom County communities. Participates in a collaborative program that allows anyone who lives, works or attends school in Whatcom County to get a library card at area academic libraries.
