ESL/Citizenship Classes offered at Helping Link
Helps Vietnamese refugees, immigrants, and Vietnamese Americans prepare for their citizenship test and interview while strengthening their English skills. The 10-week citizenship classes provide practical instruction in order to pass citizenship exams. Topics will vary to tailor lessons to match the needs of the clients, but will include American history and government, civics and social responsibility. Provides at least one native English speaker and one bilingual English and Vietnamese speaker with clients, placing an emphasis on conversation practice and social interaction. Volunteer tutors serve as facilitators to help each client reach their particular goals.
