Families are chosen based on their needs, ability to pay, and willingness to collaborate. Habitat families will earn their required "sweat equity" hours by working alongside construction volunteers from their community. The house is then sold to the family through an affordable mortgage. The entire process, from the selection of a family to the completion of the project, is expected to take between 6 and 24 months.
Habitat for Humanity of Island County
