Diabetes Prevention Program at YMCA of Greater Seattle's Meredith Mathews/East Madison Branch
Class series helps participants adopt the healthy habits needed to prevent type 2 diabetes. Trained lifestyle coaches lead classes to help participants make better food choices, increase physical activity and learn coping skills to maintain weight loss and healthy lifestyle changes.

Eligibility
Individuals 18 and older who have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes or are at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes. Y membership is not required for participation.

Eleven regional YMCA branches provide after-school programming for youth, child care programs, older adult programs, and programs for families and youth. Two branches serve a community supper once a week. University Family YMCA operates a street youth drop-in center which also offers hygiene items and services. Auburn location offers smoking cessation workshops.
