Provides trained volunteers who educate, assist, and serve as advocates for people with Medicare. SHIBA volunteers help people with Medicare understand their rights and options for health insurance so that they can make informed decisions. SHIBA volunteers can also provide information on the Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB) program, a Medicaid program that helps people with Medicare pay for their medical care.
