Salamander Clubhouse offered at Kitsap Mental Health Services

Provides a community center for people living with severe mental illness. Staff work side-by-side with members to operate Clubhouse. Members identify talents, develop skills and build self-confidence by helping run the program. Tasks are tailored to members’ strengths and can include greeting visitors, writing newsletters, maintaining computers and welcoming new members. Uses socials and team-building trips to help members build connections with staff and peers. Staff help members achieve recovery goals by connecting them to employment, education, housing and a community of support to help them move toward independence.
