Eligibility
No restrictions for pet licenses. King County pet licenses are required for all dogs and cats 8 weeks of age or older in most areas of the county.
For senior/disabled discount: pet owner must be age 65 or older or have a documented disability, and pet must be altered.
For service animals: owner must have a documented disability and statement that animal is a service animal. A service animal is any animal that is trained or being trained to aid a person who is blind, hearing impaired, or otherwise disabled and is used for that purpose and is registered with a recognized service animal organization. Pet must be altered.

Call for more information, fill out application online, or visit a licensing location, including city offices. Visit website for all licensing locations. In summer and fall, King County canvassers also sell pet licenses door to door.
Fees
Annual license fees:
Unaltered dog/cat: $60.
Altered dog/cat: $30.
Senior/disabled: $15.
Service animal: Free.
Replacement: $5.
