Eligibility

Serves kinship families in Ferry, Pend Oreille, and Stevens counties. Kinship families are formed when grandparents or other relatives care for children whose own parents are unable to care for them. The arrangement can be informal and private; in other situations, the local child welfare agency is involved.

Description

Connects grandparents and relatives who are raising children with community resources such as health, financial, legal services, support groups, training and emergency funds. Kinship services help kinship families establish or maintain greater self-sufficiency and long term stability needed to keep their children out of the foster care system.

Services to low-income individuals and families which include Head Start, services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, transportation, housing, energy assistance, weatherization, adult and long term care, senior nutrition, services for run-away and homeless youth, and employment and training services.
