The Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Unit (PBMU) provides evaluation and treatment for severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents who require inpatient crisis stabilization. The PBMU has three focus areas: a Child program serving children ages 4 to 12, an Adolescent program serving children ages 13 to 17, and a Biobehavioral program serving children ages 4 to 17 who have a primary concern for severe aggression or self-injurious behavior with autism spectrum disorder and/or intellectual disability. Clinical team collaborates with child's family and community providers on treatment and discharge planning while providing for their physical, psychosocial and educational needs.
