Vehicle Tab Renewal/Replacement - Tabs can be renewed online or a vehicle licensing office - They can be renewed up to six months before they expire Vehicle Registration - New Washington state residents have 30 days to register their vehicle after they move to the state. - Residents who buy or get a vehicle as a gift have 15 days to transfer the ownership. Disabled Parking Permits - Permanent placards are renewed every five years. Renewal reminders are mailed prior to the expiration of the placard. - A temporary parking placard will be issued for the time period indicated by the physician (for up to 12 months) and is not renewable. If the disability persists, a new application is required. - Disabled American Veterans are eligible for free vehicle licensing for one vehicle per year. The veteran must have an honorable discharge or a medical discharge w/ an honorable record and their disability must be 100% service-related.
