Senior Farmers Market Vouchers offered by FISH at Ellensburg Food Pantry

Eligibility
Kittitas County residents who:
  • Are ages 60 or older (55+ if American Indian/Alaska Native)
  • Have income below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level
Must be age 60 or 55 by June 30th of the year applying. Income must be no more than $2,461 per month for one person or $3,336 for two people. For each additional person, add $876.
Hours
1:30pm to 4pm from Monday through Thursday and 9am to 11:30am on Fridays and Saturdays

Provides low-income older adults with vouchers to purchase unprocessed, locally grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, and honey from authorized farmers markets and farm stores. The program:
  • Supports healthy eating
  • Helps stretch food budgets
  • Connects participants to local agriculture
Participants receive a one-time seasonal benefit of $80 loaded onto an electronic benefits card. Benefits can be used to buy items such as apples, berries, leafy greens, tomatoes, peppers and squash. Funds can only be used during the current market season which runs from June through October. Complete the proxy form to allow family members to use the card. Free phone app allows users to track their benefit balance and purchase history as well as locate authorized markets.

The only food bank in Kittitas County contracting with WSDA to provide food and financial resources for the pantries located throughout the county. A client-choice food pantry open Monday through Friday providing groceries for 40% of Kittitas County residents and a mobile pantry serving the most rural parts of the county. A meal-service division facilitating the SE WA Aging and Long-Term Care Meals on Wheels and Senior Nutrition programs county-wide. Ancillary programs providing food resources and educational programs for adults and children. We also operate Kittitas County's diaper bank at our Pantry in Ellensburg.
