Description

The Olympia Municipal Court is a court of limited jurisdiction. Presides over the following types of cases: - non-traffic infractions, - traffic infractions, - criminal misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors, - and orders for protection for victims of domestic violence. Schedules arraignments, pre-trial hearings, non-jury and jury trials, sentencing, reviews, etc. Coordinates related services including legal representation for indigent persons, probation, and interpreter services. Citations issued by the City of Olympia Police Department, Code Enforcement Officer, or Animal Services for a misdemeanor or gross misdemeanor criminal offense, traffic infraction or code violation that occurred in the city limits, tickets will be filed in the Olympia Municipal Court.
