Birthday Program offered at Toy Rescue Mission

From I-5:
  • Take the So. 38th St West exit on the left toward Tacoma Mall/WA-16/Gig Harbor/Bremerton;
  • Take the 6th Ave exit off WA-16;
  • Turn Right onto 6th Ave.;
  • Turn right onto Shirley St to park.
Eligibility
Living in Pierce County. Children between the ages of 1 and 15 years old, must receive state assistance and live in your home. Families need to be able to be served in 2026: normally families are served 2 years in a row, then they must skip a year.
Hours
10am to 4pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Application process
Prefer if parents email to schedule an appointment. Evenings and weekends require an appointment.

Restores new "life" to "previously loved" toys. After being refurbished, the toys are then donated to needy children in battered women's shelters, homeless family shelters and to any child known to have a verifiable need. Generally, December birthdays are served in November, to make room for the applicants seeking help for Christmas.

The TRM is involved in restoring new "life" to "previously loved" toys. After being refurbished, the toys are then donated to needy children throughout Pierce County. Also serves those in battered women's shelters and other social service agencies. Primary services are Birthday Gifts, Easter Baskets, Back to School and Christmas Gifts. Volunteers are welcome.
