Focus Population

Helps parents navigate the dependency system. Connects parents to parent allies with lived experience with child dependency who had a successful case outcome. Parent allies:
  • Offer guidance throughout the dependency process
  • Meet with parents before and after they go into court
  • Help parents navigate court-ordered services
Dependency 101 Class Two-hour class teaches parents how to navigate the dependency system and provides tools and resources to help empower parents during their case. Stakeholders share their roles and responsibilities in cases including: a judge, a child advocate, a state agency attorney, a CPS social worker, and a parent’s attorney.
