Early Learning Program offered by Educational Service District 113

Federally funded program Head Start, serving low-income families with pre-school children. Focuses on the needs of the whole child and his or her family. Offers a pre-school experience while helping parents develop skills as teacher, parent, and advocate for themselves and their child(ren). Connects families to health, dental, mental health, family and nutrition services. Families participate in parent engagement activities as well as social services. Several options of pre-school are available: - Half-day Preschool: Children attend the pre-school experience 3.5hrs, 4 days per week. - School Day: Children attend 6.5hrs, 4/5 days per week. Programs available based on service area. Follows school-year calendar, not available year-round. No childcare services are available. Special Services in Head Start: Program also serves special needs children. 10% (minimum) of enrollment openings are reserved for children with disabilities. Families over the Federal Poverty Guidelines who's child has a current school district Individual Education Plan (IEP) may qualify for services. All program models include: classroom trainings, parent trainings, home visits, health services, and family engagement activities. Transportation may be available if the family is within the service area. Preschool experience while helping parent/guardian develop skills as teacher, parent, and advocate for self and child. Health, dental, mental health, family and nutrition services. Families participate in parent engagement activities as well as social services. TWO OPTIONS: - Half-day Preschool: Children attend preschool experience 4 days a week at 3.5 hrs a day. - School day Preschool: Children attend preschool “school day” length at 6.5hrs a day, varies from 4 to 5 days a week. Options vary by location. Families are enrolled based on school catchment area, not by parent preference.
