COVID-19 Testing offered through the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department

Helps coordinate several, no-cost ways to get a COVID-19 test. Options are available to the general public and business communities. Options can include: - At-home test kits – partnering with SCAN (Greater Seattle Coronavirus Assessment Network Study) to get test kits delivered to the home. Most kits are delivered the same day. - Large scale testing kits for schools, large employers or businesses that may need to do daily testing. - Some tests available include the Antigen (or Rapid Results) tests. Testing is encouraged for those who: - are in an at-risk community - were close to a person with COVID-19 or attended a gathering with many people - or are experiencing one or more of the following symptoms: - - fever, - - chills, - - fatigue - - cough, - - shortness of breath, - - muscle pain, - - headache, - - loss of taste or smell, - - sore throat, - - stuffy or runny nose, - - nausea, - - vomiting, - - or diarrhea.

Application process

At-home Test Kits: - Visit the SCAN website (scanpublichealth.org). Fill out the form online to have a test sent out. - Follow the instructions in the Kit and return it. Business/Organization testing: - Fill out the request form on the Health Department's website.

Open to any person or group in need of COVID-19 testing.

Offers public health services for individuals, communities, and businesses, including: - water, restaurant, waste disposal, and septic system inspection; - monitoring and responding to outbreaks of communicable diseases, including TB, Hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, and others; - substance abuse counseling, - health counseling for prenatal clients and parents of children in the home; - health education and general health information and referral.
